Solid Teploenergo Fuel briquettes

This type of fuel is also called euro fuel wood. This name briquettes received due to its smooth form. This is an environmentally friendly fuel, which is obtained by pressing a variety of waste of wood production. In addition, inexpensive and affordable components such as straw, peat, perennial grass, tyrsa, sunflower seeds, buckwheat and rice can be added to briquettes. For burning of briquettes stoves, fireplaces, boilers and other solid fuel equipment are suitable.

Types of briquettes

Briquettes are divided into types depending on the form they acquire after pressing. The composition of the briquette does not matter. So, depending on the form, briquettes are distinguished:

Pini key

These are large bars that are rectangular or hexagonal in shape. Inside each of the pini key bars there is a section of a void with holes on either side of the briquette. Due to the voids air circulation improves – the efficiency of the combustion process increases. The density of the briquettes pini-key ranges from 1.08 to 1.40 g / cm3

RUF

These are medium sized briquettes. They are distinguished by a compact rectangular brick-like shape and rounded corners. You can often find such briquettes out of peat. The density of this solid biofuel is small – from 0.75 to 0.8 g / cm3. Roof briquettes emit heat even if there is no open fire.

Nestro

Mid-size briquettes, similar to pini-key. Instead of rectangular, they have a cylindrical shape. Some of these “barrels” come with radial holes. Density – 0.95–1.1 g / cm3.

Pellets Presented by small-sized granules of biofuels. They are high density, characterized by high thermal efficiency. Unlike other briquettes, they can be used only on specialized pellet equipment.

There are still briquettes, depending on the type of raw materials. On the market they are represented by compressed sawdust, straw, peat, sunflower husk, buckwheat husk and rice, etc.

Benefits versus other fuels

Briquette biofuel has a number of undeniable advantages over conventional wood and other fuels. The following should be highlighted:

Compactness

Storage and transportation do not need a lot of space.

High burning temperature

Achieved due to low humidity and high density briquettes. Due to this, the calorific value of one kilogram of briquettes is 4500-4900 kcal against 2500-2700 kcal for firewood at normal humidity.

Low chimney clogging

After burning of the briquettes, less ash remains than wood burning.

Complete environmental friendliness.

The composition of briquettes has only natural substances – out of wood waste and food industry. There is no glue or any other chemical impurities.

At the consumer level, the cost of briquettes is much higher than the cost of conventional firewood. However, if we take into account the compactness, higher calorific value and all the above listed advantages of briquettes, then the choice of the modern consumer will be predetermined – he will choose briquettes. Even with the best calorific value 1 kilowatt of heat will cost a few cents more when using briquettes. But at the same time, if we pay attention to the compactness of this biofuel, we understand that its transportation will be cheaper. Then add at the same time the advantages of euro fuel wood already listed above – the difference is palpable.

Basic parameters of briquettes

From what material briquettes would not be made, they all have several parameters that mainly affect the efficiency of burning. We are talking about these factors:

Humidity

While the moisture content of ordinary wood is in the range of 15-20%, some types of briquettes can boast 4% of moisture. The maximum humidity of the briquette can reach only 8%. The lower the moisture content of the material, the greater its heat transfer

Density

By density, ordinary wood is inferior to briquettes. Compare: poplar has a density of 0.4 g / cm3, oak has a density of 0.81 g / cm3, while briquettes have a density of 0.95-1 g / cm3.

Ash content

This parameter indicates the percentage of briquettes containing low-energy or non-combustible substances.

Heat value.

The listed parameters form together the calorific value of the fuel. Briquettes have a calorific value of 4500–4900 kcal / kg.
